Meet Your 2014-2015 GHE Board.....

 

Patrice Bryant serves as President  She and her husband Kelvin are entering their 14th year of homeschooling. Patrice and Kelvin have been married 25 years and have three sons ages 16, 17, and 18 and one 5 1/2 year daughter (aka "The Princess"). The Bryants are members of Elim Christian Fellowship where Kelvin serves as an elder and Patrice works part time as the Administrative Assistant. They are both very active in the Youth and Financial Empowerment Ministries at Elim. Their family is also very involved with homeschool athletics in Greensboro.


Amanda Wares serves as Vice-President. She is married to Michael, and has 4 children: Susannah, 18, Killian, 13, Katrielle, 11, and Deacon, 5. This is their 10th year homeschooling, and her 8th year on the GHE board. The Wares family thoroughly enjoys being part of a home church fellowship. In addition to her roles as wife and stay-at-home mom/teacher, Amanda also serves on the NCHE board as Activities Director.  In all her spare time, she loves to read, plan field trips, and encourage new homeschoolers!  


Natalie Hollomon is the GHE board Secretary. The Hollomon's are native Washingtonians but have made North Carolina their home for 19 years now. Natalie and her husband Tyrome, II have two children (Shaina, 23, and Tyrome, III soon to be 12 years old).  They are entering their third year of homeschooling and Tyrome's second year as coach for the GC-HEAT middle school basketball team.  The Hollomons are members of Elim Christian Fellowship where they act as facilitators in the Marriage Learning Academy. Also, Tyrome serves as head of the Deacon's Ministry and is a teacher in the youth ministry and Natalie serves as the head of the Greeter's Hospitality Ministry. They are both very active in their community as well, volunteering on the Ole Asheboro Neighborhood Association Board. Natalie enjoys serving others, spending time with friends, reading, bowling, roller skating, and mentoring youth as they walk with Christ (Proverbs 1:8-10 NLT).  She looks forward to supporting other homeschoolers by being a part of the  GHE board. 


Christie Cheatham is the GHE Treasurer.  Christie is married to Lewis Cheatham Jr. and they have 4 children: Chelsea 8 years old, Malachi 5years old, Ashley 3 years old, and Jeremiah 9 months old. Year 2014-2015 is their third year of homeschooling. A graduate of NC State University, Christie has studied at Liberty University Online, pursuing Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.  Christie also serves as an Associate Minister and leader of the Women’s Fellowship at Friendship Baptist Church in Greensboro. Christie enjoys cooking, taking walks, and gardening, "especially seeing the seeds planted, sprout, grow, and produce vegetables and fruits, bringing nourishment to us & others, just as I see the seed of obedience to God to homeschool our children".


Alev Nobles will be serving as one of our Activities CoordinatorsAlev and her husband Zack have been married for 15 years. In 2004, they moved to Greensboro from Colorado. This year marks their third year homeschooling their 2 sons, ages 8 and 4. The Nobles family attends Westover Church, where Zack and Alev volunteer in Children’s Ministry. Alev enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, singing, and staying up later than she should.
