Meet Your 2014-2015 GHE Board.....
Patrice Bryant serves as President She and her husband Kelvin are entering their 14th year of homeschooling. Patrice and Kelvin have been married 25 years and have three sons ages 16, 17, and 18 and one 5 1/2 year daughter (aka "The Princess"). The Bryants are members of Elim Christian Fellowship where Kelvin serves as an elder and Patrice works part time as the Administrative Assistant. They are both very active in the Youth and Financial Empowerment Ministries at Elim. Their family is also very involved with homeschool athletics in Greensboro.
Amanda Wares serves as Vice-President. She is married to Michael, and has 4 children: Susannah, 17, Killian, 12, Katrielle, 10, and Deacon, 4. This is their 9th year homeschooling, and her 7th year on the GHE board. The Wares family is a part of a home church fellowship. Amanda loves to read (when she gets the time), plan field trips, and encourage new homeschoolers!
Natalie Holloman is the GHE board Secretary.
Christie Cheatham is the GHE Treasurer. Christie is married to Lewis Cheatham Jr. and they have 3 children: Chelsea 7 years old, Malachi 7 years old, and Ashley 2 years old. 2013-2014 is their third year of homeschooling. A Graduate of NC State University, Christie is currently enrolled at Liberty University Online, pursuing Masters Degree in Biblical Studies. Christie also serves as an Associate Minister and leader of the Women’s Fellowship at Friendship Baptist Church in Greensboro. Christie enjoys cooking, taking walks, and gardening, "especially seeing the seeds planted, sprout, grow, and produce vegetables and fruits, bringing nourishment to us & others, just as I see the seed of obedience to God to homeschool our children".
Mirandy Bishop will be serving as one of our Activities Coordinators. Mirandy is married to Kenny Bishop. They have 3 children. Aidan who is 7 years old, Corbin who is 5 years old and Avery who is 3 years old. 2013-2014 will be her 3rd year homeschooling. She attends Westover Church in Greensboro, NC. Mirandy enjoys cooking, watching her boys play baseball, her little girl dance and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing about homeschooling is the relationship she is developing with her children and seeing the "Ah-ha" moment when they get something they have been working on!
